TV Lift Linear Actuator Planning Guide
A TV lift should be designed from the complete moving system rather than TV weight alone. Include the television, mounting bracket, moving platform, guide friction, mechanism geometry, travel, installation space and control requirements.
1. Define the Complete Moving Load
Use the combined moving mass of the TV, bracket and lift structure, then account for guide friction and any leverage created by the mechanism.
2. Determine Required Force
Calculate the required actuator force from the actual lift geometry and motion direction, including an appropriate engineering margin. Do not select an actuator from a generic TV-size or TV-weight table.
3. Determine Vertical Travel and Installation Space
Measure the required lift travel and calculate the actuator stroke from the mechanism. Confirm the actuator, guides and structure fit at the fully lowered and fully raised positions.
4. Compare Loaded Speed and Duty Cycle
Use the load-speed specification for motion under working load and check the expected operating cycle against the actuator duty-cycle rating.
5. One or Multiple Actuators
The required actuator count depends on the support structure, guide system, load distribution and stability requirements. If multiple actuators are used, synchronization must be addressed by the complete control system.
6. Electrical and Control Requirements
Select 12V or 24V to match the power architecture and verify current, switching, controller and signal requirements separately. Do not infer remote-control, smart-home or synchronization compatibility from voltage alone.
7. System Safety
An actuator self-locking-load rating is a product specification, not a complete fall-protection or system-safety guarantee. Guides, mechanical retention, end stops, structure and control logic should be assessed for the actual lift design.
