This guide is for planning heavy linear-motion systems. It compares verified specifications for HH-LA-U11, HH-LA-U3 and HH-LA-U6, but it does not certify that a model is suitable for a specific machine or environment.

1. Calculate Required Force

Determine push and pull force from the actual mechanism geometry, motion direction, friction and an appropriate engineering margin. A higher force rating is not automatically a better fit.

2. Confirm Stroke and Installation Length

Derive required travel from the mechanism and verify the actuator fits in both retracted and extended positions.

3. Check Duty Cycle

HH-LA-U11, HH-LA-U3 and HH-LA-U6 each have a verified duty-cycle rating of 10–20%. Do not treat them as continuous-duty actuators without confirming the operating cycle and engineering requirements.

For working motion, compare load speed as well as force. The verified load-speed ratings are 2.2 mm/s for HH-LA-U11, 3.5 mm/s for HH-LA-U3 and 7 mm/s for HH-LA-U6.

6. Verify Electrical and Control Requirements

All three are available in 12V and 24V DC versions. HH-LA-U11 and HH-LA-U3 have built-in limit switches. HH-LA-U6 has a limit switch and verified signal output, plus built-in clutch overload protection. Do not infer Hall feedback, synchronization or controller compatibility unless explicitly verified for the complete system.
